Happy Summer Everyone! We had such a great time at our inaugural Mini Music Fest on July 4th. Thanks to all of you who came out, relaxed, danced and supported our beautiful musical guests. We are already starting to plan for next years festival.

Our Community Compost Club has over 35 members and growing! We built a community worm bin that after 1 month is almost full, so we are building another one! The worms are so happy with all of the delicious food scraps you are bringing to them, so keep it coming. Tell your friends and neighbors and make sure to let them know to get in touch with us so we know how many people are using the bins. Thank you for taking this important step in reducing the amount of waste going into the landfill. Every little bit counts and we get yummy worm castings to use in our gardens as a result. We love full circle solutions!

Is there anything you want to see happen on the lot? Get in touch with us. In the meantime, here are a few things you can be a part of over the coming weeks! Join us!

SUMMER HEAT: YOGA WITH APRIL CLARK

SUMMER HEAT: YOGA WITH APRIL CLARK

Where: Dirty Bird's
When: Tuesday, July 25, 8:30am
What to bring: A yoga mat, any props you want (blocks, blanket, strap), and some water.

We’ll start our 2-hour experience off with a seated 5-minute meditation and ceremony to connect with the natural forces all around us & with ourselves as part of nature. Next, we’ll move through a 1-hour yoga sequence to conjure up the heat of our bodies and feel into the heat of this season.

After we move, we’ll spend about 40 minutes in restorative yoga and yin shapes,  with a hand pan/singing bowl sound bath and some optional aromatherapy. During this time April will guide you through a replenishing visualization and affirmations journey to stir up your wildest, warmest dreams and call them into reality.

Email April with any questions! aprilclarkyoga[at]gmail[dot]com

cinema under the stars: STOP MAKING SENSE

Director Jonathan Demme captures the frantic energy and artsy groove of Talking Heads in this concert movie shot at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre in 1983. The band's frontman, David Byrne, first appears on an empty stage, armed with only an acoustic guitar, and is gradually joined by bassist Tina Weymouth, drummer Chris Frantz, keyboardist Jerry Harrison and a cadre of backup singers as they perform the band's hits, culminating in an iconic performance featuring Byrne in an enormous suit.

Bring your own drinks and snacks. Be prepared to get up and dance! Costumes are encouraged.
